Fall for me is the time to get back into my routine, my productive habits, and my European life. 🍁
After a summer filled with traveling and reconnecting with friends and family back home in Canada, I’ve arrived back in Europe, and now it’s all about getting unpacked, settled, and back into the swing of work, healthy habits, and feeling productive again.
When I’m in Canada, I’m wayyy more relaxed about what I do and don’t accomplish.
This summer, I focused more on socializing than working. Whether it was girls' nights, golfing, lake days, or concerts, I embraced all the best things in life—and it was THE BEST decision to do so.
My business allows me to slow down during summer, and that’s something I truly value. Life outside of work and maintaining strong relationships is important to me.
But now that I’m back in Europe, recharged from my summer, I’m excited for fall. We have some big projects lined up in the business, and … I’ve also made a pretty surprising business decision that I’ll get into later in the blog.
How I plan my goals
Whenever I plan my goals, I always like to prioritize. This is essential so that you always know what your top focus should be and can make decisions accordingly.
Here’s a sneak peek at the major projects I’ll be focusing on this fall:
Film 8 YouTube videos for my upcoming course launch in October.
Finish prepping for Squarespace Circle Day: I’m thrilled to speak at this year’s event, especially because I’ll be sharing some impressive stories from my students. Just need to put those finishing touches on my presentation!
Hiring a new team member: Yep, we’re expanding again! Hiring isn’t my favorite task because it takes a while (I prefer those tasks you can just sit down for a day and knock out), but it’s necessary.
Rewrite the sales page for my course launch: I always work on the copy first since it guides the entire design.
Redesign the sales page: After the copy’s done, it’s time to redesign the sales page to match the new branding. I recently made a video about my business rebrand! You can watch it here.
Redesign my entire website: Now that my new business branding is finished, it’s time for a full website overhaul.
I’ve started mapping out the main pages for the initial redesign, and let me tell you, I had no idea how many pages my website had at this point!
This will definitely be a larger project so we’ll start with just redesigning the 15 main pages and then tackle the sales and opt-in pages later.
So those six things are what will keep me busy till December.
Why I’m NOT going to be consistent with my content anymore:
Yep, you read that right.
I’m going to be inconsistent with my content.
I know, that’s shocking coming from someone who’s always preached about consistency so let me explain why I’ve made this big decision for my business:
For years, I’ve been adamant about consistent content creation—and there’s no doubt that it’s been key to my business success.
But not all content is created equal.
While consistency is fantastic for blog posts (since it helps with Google rankings), YouTube is a different game. Traffic on YouTube comes from suggested videos and how well they perform on the homepage. This means that in order to compete, you’ve got to produce top-tier content.
I realized that pushing to hit publish dates was actually hurting the quality of my videos. So, I’m shifting gears. You’ll see me posting less frequently on YouTube, but the content will be much higher quality.
I had a super interesting conversation with my fellow YouTube content creator Deya about this, and she had a very similar experience:
When she started prioritizing quality over quantity, she saw huge growth on her channel.
It’s a strategy shift, and sometimes in business, you have to adapt to the platform in order to get the results you want.

4 Tips for a Productive Fall
Now that I’m getting back into work mode, I wanted to share some productivity tips that help me accomplish my best work in less time:
Batch your travels:
If you’ve got multiple trips planned, stack them together so you’re not constantly getting out of your normal at-home routine.
This summer, I did quite a few trips back-to-back instead of having gaps in between. Let me tell ya, It made all the difference.
When you travel with breaks in between, you're constantly packing and unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning, restocking the fridge—basically, always in transition mode.
By lining up trips one after the other, you then get longer stretches of time at home, free from interruptions.
This leads to majorly increased productivity because you can fully settle into your routines before and after your travel, without constantly getting pulled out of them.
plan periods of full rest and relaxation
Basically, I rested all summer.
I pulled a "European lifestyle" move, even when I was in Canada.
I didn’t stress myself at all about being productive or checking things off my to-do list. I just let myself enjoy the time with family and friends, completely unplugged from work.
And honestly, that break made all the difference. Creating those intentional rest periods means that when I do come back to work, I feel so refreshed and ready to dive in and get things done.
That’s how the European lifestyle really works its magic for me.
Create a dedicated workspace:
My office is incredible for my ability to get things done. Everything is exactly where it needs to be—nothing needs to be set up—which saves so much time and lets me focus on the tasks at hand.
Having a space where my work equipment is always ready helps me tick off my to-do list more efficiently.
Workspaces outside of the house are also amazing for keeping you focused. When I’m in my outside office space, I know that it’s purely for work—no distractions like tidying up or running errands.
It’s all about ticking off those Asana tasks and getting things done.
Create the morning routine that's right for you:
Okay, I’m not talking about the 15-step routines you see in YouTube videos.
Mine is drinking a coffee (preferably delivered by my husband), perhaps a short meditation, and then cracking open the laptop and getting to work.
Honestly, I don’t really have breakfast in the morning, and I definitely don’t have a long routine cause I’ve found that getting right to work is what works best for me and my productivity.
Your morning routine doesn’t need to be 2 hours long—find what works best for you!
After a fun and relaxing summer, I can’t wait to get back to work this fall and get things done.
Being back in my space—my apartment and office—it feels so good. There’s something about coming home that makes me fly through my to-do list.
Early in my business, I was a digital nomad for a few years, hopping between Bali, Europe, Canada, and the U.S. I met incredible people and had the best time, but I don’t miss living out of a suitcase.
Having a home base gives me a whole new level of productivity. The joy of being in one place, especially after a summer of bouncing around, makes me appreciate being settled even more.
You might be wondering how I ended up living in such a beautiful place and running a business that lets me travel the world.
It all started when I launched my web design business 8 years ago. Since then, I’ve lived in Germany, the UK, Switzerland, and traveled to Bali, Canada, the U.S., and the Caribbean—all thanks to the business I built.
