C HAPTER No. 01
How It Started
2014
Decided to start a blog, shortly thereafter realized I didn’t know how to build a website...
In between “pretending” to work at my job, I found Squarespace, taught myself, fell in love, and redesigned my site 20 times.
2015
After one too many Canadian winters, I packed bags and went south. Started a Masters at Ole Miss.
Walked tipsily into a college bar, walked out having met my future (international) husband.
Started designing sites for small businesses as a creative outlet—and a way to fund my next adventure!
2016
Cap & gown? Check!
One-way ticket to Europe? Check!
Realizing it would take longer than expected to master the local language? Oof!
Time to pivot and start that web design business instead!
2018
Did the “done thing” and digital nomaded through Bali.
Booked out my services for months.
Looked for the solution to scaling. Launched my first courses.
2020
Survived a pandemic. Postponed a wedding (3 times… as you do.)
Not much else happened because… well, 2020.
Took up a new hobby called “taste a variety of reds by fireplace.”
2021
Moved to the UK. (Chelsea, London. And no I still haven’t watched the show. It’s on my to do list, promised.)
Created Audience Academy course.
Quit Instagram. Most shocking? Because I already had an established blog & email list, it didn’t affect my business one bit!
Attended the King’s Garden Party. Can confirm, the sandwiches are scrumptious.
2023
Craved the countryside. Moved to Switzerland.
Received a second invite to Necker Island. Played Richard Branson Tennis. Lost. Rematch to come.
Fulfilled my lifelong love of skiing world-renowned mountains all winter. Marginally improved at moguls.

Genuinely incredible hills & highly entertaining people watching.
Stay in Klosters, not Davos. Much more charming. Pro tip: Go during the WEF. While the politicians plan, the ski hills are pristine & empty!
APRES BAR:
CERVO Mountain Resort, Zermatt
Go early. It ends abruptly. It’s Switzerland afterall, there’s a strict schedule of course. (Though honestly, La Folie Douce in France is superior après to Switzerland.)
